Each year in May. Series of sporting, academic and cultural events. Aims to mix fun, friendly exchanges with information, and endeavours to give the Japanese public a chance to learn more about the European Union. [en, ja] European Eyes on Japan / Japan Today Since 1999 European photographers are invited to Japan to document how Japanese people live their lives. The photographs are collected in the publications of the project and presented in exhibitions in Japan and Europe. [en, ja] Initiated in 1994 by Patrice Boiteau, a French-born film director and resident of Osaka, to promote cultural exchange between Japan and Europe, and to enrich the cultural activities of the Kansai region. The Prize of Osaka City and the Prize for Young Cinema have been awarded here since 1997. Will have a special focus on art and multimedia [en] 1 - 30 June 2002 New Trends of Architecture in Europe and Japan 2002 Event bringing together young European and Japanese architects, to display work and share ideas. Symposium at Tokyo’s Maison Franco-Japonaise on 1 June, 2001. Work by the twenty architects on display throughout June at Hillside Forum. The exhibition will travel to Spain and Belgium. [en, ja]
